Outdoor yoga on a weekend morning by the river is just what the yogi ordered.
Become one with nature while you work on your flexibility and core strength. Yoga is for everybody and every body, not just the super flexible. The class led by Align Yoga, Rocks, and Reiki is a mixed-level flow and great for beginner to advanced practitioners, but we do ask that you have taken at least a class or two before showing up! This party is BYOM (bring your own mat) because no one wants grass stains on their palms from doing downward dog!

About the Class
Flow like the river! This vinyasa flow practice will link postures through breath and movement and will align the body, mind and spirit, leaving you feeling great. Students are encouraged to participate at the pace and level that is appropriate for them, taking modifications as necessary. This class is for everyone, and is especially useful to those athletes participating in the many challenging Dominion Energy Riverrock events! Please bring your mat, water, and a towel. Sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended as well.
Meet Saturday's Instructor: Corey Lorenz
In the summer of 2020, she completed her 200 hour teacher training certification and has been called to share the joy of yoga through teaching ever since. Most recently, she earned a trauma-informed certification with The Yoga Vidya School, studied with Nikki Meyers and Dana Walters to become a registered Y12SR Leader, and completed an Ayurveda Specialist Certification with Steph Mitchell.
Corey’s classes cater to the needs of her students with an emphasis on breath, alignment, and mental perspective. As a teacher, Corey hopes to help you feel more empowered in your personal practice of yoga, on and off the mat.
Meet Sunday's Instructor: Shonda Austin
Beginning her yoga journey while studying Sociology at Virginia State University, yoga became her tool to combat and calm anxiety through stillness and breath. After completion of her bachelor’s degree program and a long stint in corporate america, Shonda found herself deeply immersed in a sacred 21-day yoga teacher training retreat in Santa Barbara, CA where the core principles and values of yoga were deeply embedded. Shonda has completed 250 hour YTT and Wellness Coach training and has found her voice through teaching the benefits of yoga to the local community.
Shonda has since found her home in Richmond VA where she created Vibrant Thang Wellness LLC; yoga and wellness initiative. With joyful intention, she currently offers all levels yoga classes and workshops around the RVA community, including Align Yoga Rocks & Reiki. Leading with her heart and high hopes, Shonda intends to continuously create more peace and peace of mind around the city; improving mental and physical health through breath, movement and mindfulness.
