lliterate Light is an American alternative rock duo from Harrisonburg, Virginia, formed in 2015 by Jeff Gorman (vocals, guitar, synth bass) and Jake Cochran (drums, vocals). They’re known for high-energy, dynamic live shows—with Gorman playing guitar and bass synth with his feet and Cochran drumming standing up—creating a sound Washington Post calls “massive.” Their music blends rock, Americana, folk, and psychedelic elements. They’ve released several albums including their self-titled debut (2019), Sunburned (2023), and Arches (2024), earning critical acclaim and a devoted following through intense touring and innovative performances.
